We had a real blast bringing our British Invasion music to Bermuda in March, playing at the Canadian Construction Association’s annual conference. It turned out to be a busy few days and even more beautiful than we expected - we’d all go back in a second!
It was a fun gig to play for a mixed CCA audience that was ready to party. Our good friend, Ben Payne (Canadian expat, now Bermudian musician) was able to sit in on a few tunes with us, and did a fantastic job. Everybody had an awesome time – musicians included!
Dark clouds and rain set in the following day and got in the way of our plans to enjoy some warm sunny rays on those perfect Bermuda beaches. We decided to make the most of it and took the local bus into the capital city, Hamilton. We knew that John Lennon spent the summer of 1980 in Bermuda, relaxing and composing what were to become the songs on his final album.
Many thanks go to all the friendly locals who managed to direct us over to the Botanical Gardens, where we found “Double Fantasy”, a sculpture to commemorate John Lennon’s time on the island. We knew there was a reason we came to Bermuda!
A huge thanks to the CCA for the opportunity to entertain them in paradise. We had a blast and can’t wait to go back!
